About Me
To me, video games are everything. They’re more than just a hobby.
Ever since I was a kid, video games have been a constant in my life, and they still are today.
I love horror games because they’re kind of like roller coasters: they can be intense, scary, and a lot of fun. But I especially enjoy survival horror games like Resident Evil, The Evil Within, and Silent Hill…
Like many devs, I have dreams of my own. I want to succeed in life while doing something I truly love, and hopefully make a living out of it along the way.
I also have another, perhaps even bigger dream: to change or leave my mark on the video game industry, just like Scott Cawthon did with FNaF. (Yeah, I know, that’s a big dream. Maybe a little too ambitious :/)
I hope these dreams come true one day
What can you expect from me?
As you might have guessed from my love of horror games, I’ll mainly be releasing horror games. I might try other genres, but probably not very often.
Would you like to work with me?
I don’t have much experience yet, but why not?
If you have some basic experience in game development, I’d be happy to work with you.
Do I use AI?
Well, it depends.
If the game I’m working on has a lot of dialogue, or if I need something very specific (like a fictional face to use as a texture), then yes. Otherwise, I don’t use it that much.
I also sometimes use it because English isn’t my native language, and writing correct sentences can be difficult for me.
Some might say it’s a skill issue. Maybe, but I’m doing my best.
I don’t find it satisfying or rewarding when AI does all the work for me. Still, I don’t think it’s useless either. Like any other tool, it can be helpful in certain situations.
In the artistic field
Imagine having a very, very, VERY specific idea for a character, with all their characteristics figured out (body type, height, skin color, clothing, and so on). You know exactly what you want, but you’re not sure whether your idea works.
You could sketch your character to see if they fit your game’s universe, but that takes time depending on your drawing skills. Alternatively, AI can help you explore and validate your ideas before committing to them.
Personally, I think AI can be useful for validating artistic ideas, whether it’s a character concept or the design of a game world. However, when creating final assets, such as textures, I believe we should favor non-AI alternatives whenever simple and accessible options are available.
In the field of text (translation, proofreading, etc.)
Translation and proofreading are other areas where AI can be useful.
Not every indie developer can afford to pay someone to translate and proofread their entire game. With the rising cost of living, saving money can be difficult.
That’s why AI can be handy. If you can’t afford professional help and don’t want your game to be full of broken-ass English, I think it can be a good option.
AI can also be used for things like textures and voice acting. There are plenty of possibilities, making this a complex but fascinating subject.
But AI isn’t perfect
AI can make mistakes, just like humans, so we can’t rely on it 100%.
It’s playing an increasingly important role in the video game industry, and it will continue to evolve.
Personally, I think AI can be useful when used properly, but we shouldn’t become too dependent on it. If AI suddenly disappeared, we’d still need to be able to create games and adapt without it.
At the same time, refusing to learn how to use AI could put you at a disadvantage compared to people who know how to use it properly.
I’m not saying you have to use AI. That’s your choice. I just think it’s worth understanding its potential, especially as it becomes more common in the industry.
To me, AI should be a personal assistant, not a personal slave that does all the work for you while you reap all the rewards.
Some people will agree with me, others won’t. That’s fine. This is my personal opinion, and you’re free to think whatever you want about it.
I know this page is supposed to be about me, but I wanted to share my thoughts on AI and be transparent about how I use it.
Ultimately, I just want people to know what they can expect from me, both when it comes to AI and in general.
That’s a lot of information, but I hope it helps you understand me a little better
To everyone who read this all the way through, thank you for taking the time to read it!
And to all y’all folks, have a great day or a good evening ♡♡
